Shop Manager - Wonder Auto Centres

We are seeking a proven leader in the automotive service industry with a customer-centric approach and a dedication to excellence. The ideal candidate will be skilled in motivating and developing teams while cultivating a positive and high-achieving work environment. This position is at Wonder Auto & Tire Fredericton (Prospect street), which is part of Shift Auto Group. Shift Auto Group includes Fredericton Mitsubishi, Volvo Cars New Brunswick, Miramichi Kia, 5 ReCar locations, St Croix Auto, Velocity Autobody, and 11 Wonder Auto Centres.

Wonder Auto Centres are premier automotive retail and repair shops dedicated to providing high-quality service and exceptional customer experiences. Our service centres are known for their customer-focused and value-driven approach.

The Shop Manager will oversee the daily operations of our Prospect street location, ensuring high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, and profitability. The role requires a strong leader with a background in the automotive industry, excellent management skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Operational Management
2. Supervise all daily activities of the branch to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
3. Manage inventory, tools, and equipment to ensure they are well-maintained and available.
4. Oversee the branch budget, including monitoring expenses, revenues, and profitability.

Team Leadership

Recruit, train, and manage staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge.

Foster a positive work environment promoting teamwork and professional development.

Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to staff members.

Customer Service

Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining high standards and addressing inquiries and complaints promptly.

Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.

Oversee appointment scheduling to maximize efficiency and minimize wait times.

Sales and Marketing

Develop and implement sales strategies to meet branch targets and drive revenue growth.

Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.

Promote the branch through local marketing initiatives and community engagement.

Compliance and Safety

Ensure the branch complies with industry regulations and company policies.

Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for employees and customers.

Qualifications :

• Proven experience as a Shop Manager or in a similar leadership role within the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance services.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data and manage budgets effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• High level of integrity and a customer-first attitude.

Education and Experience :

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Automotive Technology, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive service industry with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
