This is a training position for selected spots in New Brunswick.

Summary

The Front Store Manager (FSM) is responsible for managing the overall performance of the Front Store. The Front Store includes all areas of the store, including cosmetics, excluding Pharmacy. The FSM leads staff in providing excellent customer service, manages processes and procedures, utilizes financial resources, and ensures store objectives are achieved.

Operations

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains Store Standards to optimize customer experience, drive traffic, and positively impact profitability.
  • Works with the Management Team to ensure Store Standards are consistently maintained, including in the backroom.
  • Manages labour scheduling and leverages Workforce Management (WFM) to maximize productivity.
  • Ensures staffing levels are adequate to operate the business effectively.

Human Resources

  • Complies with Human Resources Standards.
  • Supports hiring for all departments except Pharmacy.
  • Maintains wage administration within SLPH guidelines.
  • Conducts probationary and annual performance reviews.
  • Manages staff performance through coaching, action planning, and follow-up.
  • Drives Blue Culture, engagement, and motivates staff through core values.

Finance

  • Analyzes financial reports, identifies trends, and addresses discrepancies using FSM Monitoring Reports.
  • Meets period, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Sets departmental goals to motivate employees and ensures goals are achieved.
  • Develops strategies to improve store efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Planning, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Inventory management planning and preparation.
  • Ability to control expenses through judgment and decision-making.
  • Effective leadership, mentorship, and staff development.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong organization and planning abilities.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years retail management experience.
  • Ability to drive business, lead by example, and support corporate programs.
  • Effective teamwork with management.
