Falcon Equipment Ltd. seeks a seasoned heavy equipment mechanic to join our Nanaimo location. You will lead shop floor activities, mentor technicians, and perform maintenance, repairs and testing on crane, snow/ice, and rail equipment.

Ideal candidates have Red Seal or are in the fourth year of apprenticeship with relevant experience, and possess strong hydraulic/electrical knowledge with the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience with heavy equipment installations/maintenance.
• Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Mechanic.
• Fourth year of apprenticeship with related heavy equipment experience is acceptable.
• Leadership and organizational skills.
• Hydraulic and electrical knowledge is a plus.

Responsabilités

If you’re a heavy-duty equipment mechanic, hydraulic mechanic, automotive mechanic, marine mechanic, crane mechanic, elevator mechanic, hydraulic technician or millwright with a few years of experience we want you to join Falcon Equipment! This position will be based out of ourNanaimo location.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise the activities of the shop floor
• Train technicians in installation methods, safety, policies and procedures
• Perform maintenance, repairs and testing on our customers’ various types of equipment focusing on truck-mounted cranes, snow and ice, and rail equipment
• Performing other duties as required

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of related experience with heavy equipment installations and/or maintenance
• Their Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician / Mechanic
• OR will be in their 4th year of their apprenticeship with related heavy equipment experience
• OR a combination of related education and work experience
• Leadership and organizational skills
• Hydraulic and electrical experience and knowledge is a definite asset
• Solid mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot problems and read schematics
• The ability to maneuver in and around heavy equipment
• The ability to work independently
• Your own tools
• Welding experience is a definite asset
