Job summary

Falcon Equipment Surrey is hiring a Junior Mobile Equipment Electrician to develop skills in vehicle electrical systems and wiring installation at our Surrey Head Office. You will work toward becoming Falcon’s future Mobile Equipment Electrician, gaining hands-on experience across heavy equipment and automotive contexts.

This role involves learning J1939 communication systems, using OEM diagnostics, and reading electrical schematics while documenting changes for future reference.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and automotive electrical qualification certificate.
• Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles and modern vehicular systems.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Develop foundation in vehicle and equipment electrical systems.
• Assist with installation and testing of electrical wiring and control systems.

We are looking to add aJunior Mobile Equipment Electrician to our Surrey Head Officeteam, who will eventually develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become Falcon’s future Mobile Equipment Electrician.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong foundation in vehicle and equipment electrical systems.
• Assist with the installation and testing of electrical wiring and control systems.
• Learn to diagnose and repair electrical and communication-system problems.
• Develop proficiency with J1939 vehicle communication systems and related diagnostic equipment.
• Learn to use OEM diagnostic and programming software.
• Learn to read, modify, and eventually create electrical schematics.
• Accurately capture and document electrical installations and changes for future reference.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma and automotive electrical qualification certificate
• Oran equivalent combination of training and experience
• Some combination of technical education, mechanical experience, electrical experience, automotive experience, heavy-duty equipment experience, or relevant trade experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles.
• Knowledge of modern HD/Automotive vehicular electrical systems.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Complex problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work standing or in a crouched position for long periods.
• Ability to distinguish subtle color variations.
• Able to understand and update electrical schematics based on specific projects.
• Looking for an electrical jack-of-all trades, master-of-none with an attitude and aptitude to succeed.
• Valid Driver’s license and clean abstract required
