Job summary

Sureway Construction Group Ltd. is seeking a Shop Foreman - Heavy Equipment Technician in Edmonton, AB. The successful candidate will manage and oversee the operations of a busy heavy equipment shop, ensuring that maintenance and repairs are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.

The ideal candidate holds a Red Seal certification and possesses extensive experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Competitive compensation and benefits, including tool allowances, are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have 5-10 years' Journeyperson experience.
• Off Road experience is REQUIRED.

Shop Foreman - Heavy Equipment Technician

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type Full Time, Permanent

Schedule 10+ Hours per day, 5 & 2, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location 9175 - 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB

Requirements

• Full Complement of Hand Tools
• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
• Valid Driver’s License

Pre-employment

• Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
• Fitness to Work Assessment

Shop Foreman - Heavy Equipment Technician - Shop Qualifications

• Must be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician with Red Seal - Off Road
• Must have between (5) and (10) years' Journeyperson experience
• Must have (5) years of previous supervisory experience
• Off Road experience is REQUIRED
• Must be proficient with CAT E.T., S.I.S., Komatsu, Prosis and Service Advisor
• Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
• Must be open to new learning experiences
• Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED

Shop Foreman - Heavy Equipment Technician - Shop Responsibilities

• Oversee, supervise and manage the day to day operations in our heavy equipment shop
• Supervisions of H.E.T.’s to ensure schedules and timelines are met
• Assist H.E.T.’s with troubleshooting
• Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
• Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
• Follow up on parts orders
• Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
