Job summary

Southside Nissan, part of the Dilawri Group, seeks a dedicated Shop Foreman to lead the Service Department. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will guide technicians, ensure high-quality repairs, and support shop efficiency. This commission-based role emphasizes leadership and operational excellence.

You will oversee workflow, champion safety practices, and foster continuous learning while coaching a diverse team to achieve strong performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience as an automotive technician or in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Red Seal Certification or equivalent automotive qualification.
• Strong diagnostic abilities with understanding of vehicle systems.
• Proven leadership skills to mentor and train a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily technician scheduling to optimize productivity.
• Conduct quality control inspections on completed repair work.
• Perform test drives with customers to validate concerns.
• Review and track customer comebacks for continuous improvement.
• Assist with dispatching repair orders and manage work distribution in the shop.
• Support health and safety procedures and ensure guidelines are followed.
• Diagnose complex vehicle issues and provide hands-on support to technicians.
• Provide coaching and training to enhance team capabilities.
• Assist the Service Manager with shop-related tasks and requirements.
• Promote high performance, teamwork, and accountability.

Position Overview

Southside Nissan is currently seeking a dedicated andhighly skilled Shop Foreman to join our Service Department. Reportingdirectly to the Service Manager, this role plays a key leadership functionwithin the service team—guiding technicians, ensuring high-quality repairstandards, and supporting operational efficiency. The Shop Foreman contributesto the strategic success of the department by maintaining strong workflowmanagement, championing safety practices, and fostering a culture of continuouslearning and productivity.

This is a Commission Based role.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee daily technician scheduling to ensureoptimal productivity and workflow.

Qualifications Required

• Experience as an automotive technician or in arelated supervisory/leadership role.
• Red Seal Certification or equivalent automotivetechnical qualification (where applicable).
• Strong diagnostic abilities with advancedunderstanding of vehicle systems.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability tomentor, train, and support a diverse team.

• Strong communication abilities, both verbal andwritten.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑pacedenvironment with multiple priorities.

• Proficiency with dealership management systemsand repair order processes considered an asset.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
