Job summary

Southside Nissan, part of the Dilawri Group of Companies, seeks a Shop Foreman to lead the service team, schedule technicians, and ensure repair quality. You will drive efficiency, coach staff, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced shop.

The role is commission-based, with responsibilities spanning diagnostics, customer test drives, and workflow management to deliver excellent service and productivity outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in an automotive supervisory/leadership role.
• Red Seal Certification or equivalent automotive qualification.
• Strong diagnostic abilities with knowledge of vehicle systems.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor/train a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily technician scheduling to maximize productivity.
• Conduct quality control inspections on completed repair work.
• Perform test drives with customers to validate concerns or confirm repairs.
• Review, document, and track customer come-backs for continuous improvement.
• Assist with dispatching repair orders and managing shop work distribution.
• Support health and safety procedures and ensure guidelines are followed.
• Diagnose complex vehicle issues and provide hands-on support to technicians.
• Provide coaching and training to enhance team capabilities.
• Assist the Service Manager with shop-related tasks and operations.
• Promote a high-performance, accountable team environment.

Position Overview

Southside Nissan is currently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Shop Foreman to join our Service Department. Reporting directly to the Service Manager, this role plays a key leadership function within the service team—guiding technicians, ensuring high-quality repair standards, and supporting operational efficiency. The Shop Foreman contributes to the strategic success of the department by maintaining strong workflow management, championing safety practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and productivity.

This is a Commission Based role.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee daily technician scheduling to ensureoptimal productivity and workflow.
• Conduct quality control inspections on completedrepair work.
• Perform test drives with customers as requiredto validate concerns or confirm repairs.
• Review, document, and track customer come backsto support continuous improvement.
• Assist with dispatching repair orders and managing work distribution in the shop.

Qualifications Required

• Experience as an automotive technician or in a related supervisory/leadership role.
• Red Seal Certification or equivalent automotivetechnical qualification (where applicable).
• Strong diagnostic abilities with advancedunderstanding of vehicle systems.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability tomentor, train, and support a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and time‑managementskills.
• Strong communication abilities, both verbal andwritten.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑pacedenvironment with multiple priorities.
• Commitment to workplace health and safetypractices.
• Proficiency with dealership management systemsand repair order processes considered an asset.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
