Job description

Job Summary:

Shift Supervisor

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Invermere Launch location during their shift. This includes supervising staff, managing customer interactions, ensuring safety and equipment maintenance, and maintaining efficient operations. The Shift Supervisor will ensure a positive and safe experience for all customers while providing leadership and guidance to the team.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee daily operations during the shift.
  2. Supervise, train, and motivate rental attendants to deliver excellent customer service.
  3. Answer phones and monitor emails for bookings and inquiries.
  4. Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with rentals professionally.
  5. Ensure rental paperwork is complete.
  6. Provide customer orientations, including safety instructions and equipment fitting.
  7. Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
  8. Maintain rental equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper condition.
  9. Report damaged or missing equipment for repairs or replacements.
  10. Oversee the safe launching and docking of boats.
  11. Ensure staff are familiar with emergency procedures.
  12. Handle cash and process payments, including end-of-day cash-out.
  13. Keep the rental area clean and organized.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of water sports and outdoor recreation safety practices.
  • Ability to learn and share local knowledge.
  • Efficient operational management skills.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Minimum age of 19 years.
Preferred Certifications:

First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.

Working Conditions:

This role involves outdoor physical activity, including equipment handling and customer interaction in different weather conditions. Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays, are required. This is a seasonal role from May to September, with 30-40 hours per week based on your preference.

Compensation:

Competitive hourly rate starting at $25/hour, based on experience. Opportunities to use rental equipment after hours.
