Job summary

A leading architectural cladding company in Aurora seeks a Sheet Metal Façade Designer to create façades and architectural drawing systems. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and opportunities for growth. Candidates should have proficiency in AutoCAD, relevant degrees in architecture or engineering, and experience in façade and cladding design. Qualifications

• At least two years of experience as an architectural drafter/designer.
• At least one year of experience in façade and cladding design.
• 3D and BIM knowledge is an asset.
• Knowledge of building envelope and rain screen systems.
• 3D and BIM knowledge is an asset.
• At least three years of experience with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of building code regarding cladding and enveloping.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experienced in estimation and take-off.
• Knowledge of laser scanning systems and software is an asset.
• Any cladding and aluminum composite structure knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and design shop drawings, piece drawings, and work tickets for the fabrication shop.
• Review architectural drawings and project specifications to determine project scope.
• Prepare estimates of cladding requirements for new construction and retrofit projects.

• Draft 2D and 3D basic building systems and mark‑up drawings.
• Communicate with clients regarding RFIs and any addenda.
• Communicate with clients for approvals, including follow-ups after sending drawings.

• Communicate with clients for approvals, including follow‑ups after sending drawings.
