Job summary

Fountain Tire Crowfoot in Calgary is seeking a friendly Service Writer to join our team. You’ll create work orders, provide quotes, and communicate with technicians to keep customers informed.

We offer regular full-time day shifts, pay of $20–$25 per hour plus sales commissions, and benefits including health, dental, vision, RRSP with company matching, and opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in automotive repair or tire industry.
• Experience providing mechanical service quotes is an asset.
• Excellent listening and communication skills; customer-focused.
• Valid driver's license and ability to provide driver's abstract.

Responsibilities

• Create work orders and arrange bookings and communicate them to technicians.
• Provide service quotes, obtain customer authorization, finalize sales and follow up.
• Proactively call customers to determine their satisfaction with the service.
• Recommend tire, wheel and mechanical services to customers.
• Ensure that all products are billed accurately and updated in the computer system.
• Keep showroom promotions up to date.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete safety courses.
• Assist in inventory management and annual counts.

What does it take to get on track?

• 3 years of experience in the automotive repair or tire industry is required
• Experience providing mechanical service quotes is an asset
• Effective listening skills with the ability to identify customer needs and provide recommendations
• Working knowledge of passenger, light truck and, specialty tires and mechanical services
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to provide a satisfactory passenger or commercial Driver’s Abstract
• Excellent customer service and a great attitude are a must
• A team player who takes pride in their work

Primary Responsibilities

• Creating work orders and arranging bookings and communicating them to the technicians
• Provide service quotes and receive customer authorization for work to be performed on vehicles, finalize sales, and complete customer follow up.
• Provide proactive calls to customers to determine their satisfaction level with the service they have received
• Recommend tire service, specialty tire service, wheel and mechanical service to customers
• Ensure that all products are billed accurately to the customer and process all necessary information in the computer system.
• Keep promotional material updated in the showroom.
• Participate in all safety initiatives, as required or assigned, to guarantee safety at Fountain Tire including customers and staff, on the road, site or field.
• Complete assigned e-learning and safety courses and adhering to standards and policies as described in learning modules.
• Assist in inventory management through documentation processes and annual inventory counts
