Job summary

Fountain Tire Calgary Crowfoot is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead store operations and drive customer satisfaction. The role focuses on front counter service, sales, and leveraging automotive and tire knowledge to quote and authorize work.

As part of the management team, you will forecast revenue and expenditures, recruit and develop Associates, and ensure safety and training standards are met to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with preferred post-secondary education.
• At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience as assistant manager, service writer or service manager is an asset.
• Proven leadership ability and people management experience.
• Strong computer skills and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead front counter customer service and sales in automotive parts and tire services.
• Provide quotes and obtain customer authorization for work.
• Share product knowledge to deliver excellent service on the front counter.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting revenue/expenditures, tracking budgets.
• Recruit and develop Associates to provide superior customer experience.
• Supervise and motivate staff to maximize productivity.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are implemented.
• Assist in inventory management and annual counts.
• Identify and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable/credit.
• Ensure training completion and provide feedback as required.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and document resolutions.

As an important member of the store management team, the Assistant Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure store success by providing professional leadership in all aspects of the business. Other duties will include:

• A focus on front counter customer service and salesutilizing your previous automotive parts/service and wheel/tire experience
• Recommending vehicle service, providing service quotes, and receiving customer authorization for work to be performed
• Sharing product knowledge and technical expertise to provide excellent customer service on the front counter
• Assisting with the completion of an annual budget; this includes forecasting revenue and expenditures, accurately tracking budget numbers with particular attention to achieving operational benchmarks
• Assisting with the recruitment and development of a team of Associates dedicated to providing a superior customer experience
• Supervise and motivate associates to ensure maximum productivity
• Ensure all safety policies and procedures are implemented
• Assist in inventory management through documentation processes and annual inventory counts
• Assist in identifying and following up on outstanding accounts receivable/credit clients
• Ensure store associates have completed all assigned training; providing feedback and reinforcement as required
• Attentively handle customer complaints within a reasonable timeframe and maintain documentation of complaints and resolutions

What does it take to get on track?

• Completion of high school diploma or GED and a post-secondary diploma, degree, or certification is preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry
• Previous experience as an assistant manager, service writer or service manageris an asset
• Proven leadership ability and previous people management experience (recruitment/discipline) is an asset.
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to set goals and achieve results
• Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driver's abstract
• Effective communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with customers and team
• Organizational and time management skills in order to prioritize competing demands
