Fort Garry Industries Service Writer Position - Thunder Bay

Fort Garry Industries (FGI) is Canada's most trusted truck and trailer parts, sales, and service provider. With over 100 years of service, FGI has grown to include more than 500 employees across Canada.

We are expanding and looking for a talented and motivated Service Writer to join our team at our Thunder Bay branch.

What you will do :

• Create service orders with estimated costs and work times
• Secure payment and process customer invoices
• Monitor repair progress and update customers
• Maintain accurate repair orders and bill parts accordingly
• Provide warranty interpretation to customers
• Uphold FGI Customer Service Standards and Core Values
• Champion FGI's safety culture by following established procedures
• May pick up parts from customer locations
• May be required to pick up or drop off customers
• Perform other duties as assigned

What we require :

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Previous experience as a service writer or advisor in a truck and transport environment (preferred)
• Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of service shop procedures (preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn in-house systems
• Typing skills of approximately 30 wpm
• Strong time management and organizational skills
