Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Swan River operations, reporting to our Winnipeg Construction and Forestry location. You will repair, maintain, and diagnose construction and forestry equipment and attachments to keep our fleet available for customer projects.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of relevant field experience with strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge, and proficiency with diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant field experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Comfort with diagnostic work and using related tools.

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our for our Swan River, reporting to our Winnipeg Construction and Forestry location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

What We Look For

• Ability to operate Forklift. Trade qualification (Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, Truck/Transport, Automotive) considered as asset. 3 years' relevant experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Possess computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
• Possess diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
• Possess strong time management skills to perform under pressure.
• Possess strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Possess a commitment to high quality customer service.
