Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Saskatoon location. This role will repair and maintain construction and forestry equipment and attachments.

Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Saskatoon Material Handling location. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
What We Look For
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems and propane systems.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment.
  • Experience with the use of hand tools and measuring devices, and electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements.
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial equipment that includes lifting/rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.
  • Exposure to aligning equipment, using dial indicators/calipers, micrometers, hoists or jacks is a plus.
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure. Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
  • Trade qualification (Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, Automotive, Truck/Transport) considered an asset Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
