Job summary

Brandt is seeking a skilled technician to inspect, diagnose, repair and assemble heavy equipment. You will document work orders, source and order parts, and safely operate tools and equipment.

The role requires customer service orientation, strong communication, and the ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Experience with heavy equipment and certified journeyperson status (construction & forestry) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to standards
  • Use John Deere Service Advisor and other systems to document maintenance and diagnosis
  • Locate parts from catalogs and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
What We Look For
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Certified Journeyperson in the construction & forestry equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
