Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our Trois‑Riviere Construction & Forestry location. You will diagnose, service, and repair customer and dealer‑owned equipment with focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

You will utilize John Deere Service Advisor and parts catalogs, document work orders, and collaborate with team members to deliver high quality service.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong diagnostic and calibration skills.
• Able to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork to support customer service.
• Apprentice or Journeyperson in heavy‑duty equipment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience in heavy equipment maintenance or repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate conditions, diagnose, disassemble/assemble, order parts and repair heavy‑duty equipment.
• Safely use tools and related equipment.
• Utilize instruments and computer systems for service tasks.
• Document all machine information and time on work orders.
• Assess hazards and ensure safe work practices.
• Use John Deere Service Advisor to document maintenance and diagnosis.
• Use parts catalogs to locate and order parts.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation.

Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our Trois-Riviere Construction & Forestry location.

This position is responsible for performing basic/complex diagnostics, service maintenance and repair work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment on an efficient basis.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

• Enrolled as an Apprentice or certified Journeyperson in the heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
