Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician to service construction and forestry equipment in the North Bay area. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy machinery, and document all work accurately while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires strong customer communication, solid mechanical experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to service excellence. Training and advancement opportunities are offered within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Previous mechanical experience in heavy equipment is preferred.
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment trade or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate working condition of equipment, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and repair heavy duty equipment.
• Use related tools and computer systems to document maintenance and inspections.
• Document on work orders all machine information, actions, and time.
• Ensure safety and adherence to standards during tasks.
• Use parts catalogs and order parts from parts personnel.
• Road test equipment and verify attachment operation as required.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
