CL Martin, a business of Black Diamond Group, rents, leases, and sells temporary and permanent modular buildings, including standard buildings ready for immediate delivery and custom-designed solutions. We work with our customers to design and deliver customized solutions, and provide additional services such as delivery and installation, furniture rentals, and other add-ons.

CL Martin is hiring for a Service Technician/Carpenter for our Floradale, Ontario branch.

The role is responsible for maintenance and repair to ensure that our Modular fleet is in optimal condition for our customers. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded general contractor or handyman, with experience in areas such as flooring, window and wall repairs, and exterior siding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete general labor duties, build and repair modular units before they go to clients and/or returned to site.
• Work closely with the senior person on your crew and provide updates on the condition of the fleet.
• Perform general maintenance duties, such as painting, and fleet care.
• Loading/Unloading of decks, ramps, furniture, and other items as needed.

Qualifications:

• One to three years of skills as a general laborer and/or handyman. Modular building experience would be an asset.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team player.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to fill out online forms.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites within the local service area during work hours.
• Fall Protection, First Aid Certification, and WHMIS are assets. Training will be provided if needed.
• Able to pass pre-employment criminal records check and drug and alcohol testing.

Physical Requirements:

• Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
