Job summary

Nanaimo Honda is seeking a skilled Service Advisor in Nanaimo, BC to initiate automotive service requests, write repair orders and maintain customer rapport. You will verify warranty coverage, develop estimates and communicate with technicians, parts and management to ensure timely status updates.

Key strengths include excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication, strong customer service, and experience with PBS software and service databases; a valid Class 5 license is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in an Automotive Service Advisor role.
• Proven track of success in automotive industry.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with the desire to exceed expectations.
• Ability to effectively respond to and meet the needs of a diverse client base.
• PBS software experience preferred.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently help customers (internal and external) with the highest level of service
• Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
• Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
• Process warranty claims with Honda Canada and or insurance company
• Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system
• To service all allocated sales inquiries in a prompt and effective fashion
• Prepare a detailed and accurate estimate on the cost of labour and parts
• Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation
• Communicate effectively with service technicians, parts advisors and management regarding conditions and status of customer vehicles
