Job description

Rush Truck Centres of Canada is part of Rush Enterprises, the largest commercial vehicle dealership group in North America. We have 15 locations in Ontario, nearly 600 employees, and are growing. We are seeking talented individuals to join our team.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service repairs and monitoring the progress of repairs throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
• Schedule service appointments.
• Provide customers with accurate written cost estimates and establish time requirements for work completion.
• Describe symptoms, problems, causes, and required repairs to prepare orders.
• Obtain customer signatures on repair orders.
• Establish customer payment methods and obtain credit approvals.
• Monitor repair progress and communicate with customers about changes in estimates or completion times.
• Review and close repair orders.
• Explain completed work and charges to customers.
• Cross-train as a parts counter person.
• Comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Promote a positive attitude and healthy work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
• Experience in Heavy Truck, Automotive, or related industry preferred.
• Competency in customer service, administrative skills, team building, and proficiency with software and computers.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• SAP experience is an asset.
• Criminal Record Check.
• Valid driver’s license and Drivers Abstract.
