Shannex Incorporated in Bedford, Nova Scotia, is opening DePaul Hall Enhanced Care in October 2026 and seeks a compassionate Recreation Programmer to lead engaging activities for residents. You will collaborate with residents and families to plan programs across six wellness dimensions, develop individualized activities, and build partnerships with local groups to enrich community life.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in recreation or related discipline.
• Passion for creative arts such as music therapy or art therapy.
• Energetic, compassionate with experience in programming for seniors.
• Strong communication and computer skills.
• Driver's license (G) is an asset.
• CPR/First Aid certification or Safe Food Handler is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with residents and families to plan engagement across six wellness dimensions.
• Help residents achieve goals and define wellness strategies.
• Develop and review resident-directed programs.
• Foster partnerships with local businesses and community groups.
• Evaluate programs to meet resident needs and expectations.
• Work with Recreation team on full-scope wellness programming.
• Oversee orientation for new residents to recreation services.
• Oversee recreation services for special functions.
