Shannex Incorporated seeks a Wellness Assistant (Recreation) to join the Faubourg Du Mascaret team in Moncton, New Brunswick. The role centers on planning, implementing and evaluating recreation programs to support residents' emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual needs.

You will run activities in various settings, prepare materials, encourage participation, and document progress while supporting volunteers.

Qualifikationen

• A high-school diploma or equivalent education.
• Post-secondary education in a related field considered a strong asset and preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in English; proficiency in French considered an asset.
• Energetic, compassionate person with experience in programming for seniors in a recreational environment.
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate considered an asset.
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check upon hire.
• Class 4 Driver’s License considered an asset.

Aufgaben

• Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating internal and external recreation programs focusing on emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual needs of clients.
• Conduct recreation programs in settings such as large groups, small groups and one-to-one.
• Prepare rooms, materials and equipment for recreation programs.
• Motivate and facilitate client participation in recreation programs and community involvement.
• Document client progress evaluations, admission assessments and other reports as required.
• Maintain accurate client participation records; analyze data to help develop appropriate programs.
• Assist in training, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers and student placements.

About The Opportunity

• Assisting with planning, implementing and evaluating internal and external recreation programs focusing on emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual needs of the clients;

• Preparing rooms, materials and equipment for recreation programs;

• Documenting client progress evaluations, admission assessments and other reports as required;

About You

• A high-school diploma or equivalent education;


• A post-secondary education in a relative field considered a strong asset and is preferred;


• Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset;


• You are an energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and has experience in programming and planning for seniors in a recreational environment;


• Current First Aid & CPR certificate considered an asset;


• Ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check upon hire;


• Class 4 Driver’s License considered an asset;


• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
