Equitable is seeking a Senior Underwriter for our Individual Insurance team. The role focuses on risk assessment for life and critical illness products, with a strong emphasis on compliance, client experience, and mentorship within a dynamic, remote-first work setting.

You will work from a home office 100% of the time, with potential in-person needs at the Waterloo region office. The position offers a competitive total rewards package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Life and Critical Illness Underwriter.
• FLMI / FALU designation or working towards.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and strong analytical skills.

Responsabilités

• Apply underwriting expertise across medical, financial and non-medical factors.
• Maintain high-quality work and exceed service standards.
• Manage daily volumes independently to meet deadlines.
• Provide a first-class client experience and adhere to regulations.
• Support continuous improvement of underwriting processes and procedures.
• Mentor fellow underwriters with guidance and expertise.
