Job summary

Equitable, a Canadian mutual company, seeks a senior Underwriter in Advanced Markets to own UHNW cases up to $200M and mentor the underwriting team. The role blends client-focused risk assessment with strategic partnership across Distribution and internal teams.

You will work remotely from home, with occasional in-person requirements in Waterloo, ON or other Waterloo Region locations as needed. Open to travel for sales-related assignments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as an Individual Underwriter in Advanced Markets
• Strong understanding of UHNW risk and complex cases
• Experience mentoring underwriters and developing talent

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex UHNW cases by reviewing medical, personal, legal and financial information.
• Deliver concierge-level experience to UHNW clients while aligning underwriting decisions with pricing and risk philosophy.
• Mentor and develop underwriters, especially in Large Case space, and collaborate with senior leadership.
• Partner with Distribution and internal teams to support client-focused underwriting outcomes.
• Ensure timely turnaround and uphold service standards across UHNW activities.
