Job summary

bird is seeking a Senior Project Survey Coordinator to lead day-to-day survey coordination for the East Harbour Transit Hub project in Ontario. The role will plan and prioritize survey activities, coordinate survey subcontractors and field crews, and ensure deliverables are timely, traceable, and suitable for construction use.

The successful candidate will work with the Survey Manager during onboarding, within the project governance framework, and provide direction for high-risk decisions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering technology, construction management, or related discipline.
• Minimum seven years of progressive construction-survey experience, including at least three years on major transit/infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple survey crews or subcontractors under demanding schedules and tolerances.
• Strong working knowledge of survey control, traversing and leveling, construction layout, as-built verification, and datums.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary day-to-day contact for project survey requests and coordinate priorities with construction and design teams.
• Prepare and maintain short-term look-aheads, priorities, crew allocation plans, and deliverable trackers.
• Coordinate survey subcontractors including staffing, access, and field readiness.
• Review layout packages, field records, as-built reports, and checks for completeness and compliance with procedures.
• Maintain organized survey records and participate in meetings, providing status updates and issue closure.
• Coach junior coordinators and field personnel on procedures, documentation, and safe execution.
• Support RFIs, constructability reviews, and quantity checks by assembling reliable survey evidence.
