Job summary

WSP in Canada seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead multidisciplinary transit capital programs from concept through closeout. You will coordinate design and construction activities, work with clients and stakeholders, and provide technical leadership to ensure safe, efficient project delivery in active transit environments.

Hybrid role requiring at least three days per week at a client office. Strong leadership, communication, and design coordination skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with PEO in good standing.
• Minimum 7 years of direct experience delivering engineering and construction projects in transit.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary capital programs and heavy construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Construction Act, contract delivery, inspection practices.
• Experience preparing and administering technical scopes, specs, and construction docs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and define project concepts, budgets, schedules and scope with stakeholders.
• Prepare scope and construction review documents and secure approvals.
• Manage design progress from concept to detailed design and review meetings.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design reviews for constructability and compliance.
• Lead analyses and lifecycle cost studies to resolve design challenges.
• Oversee construction contract documents and technical spec development.
• Manage changes, close-out docs and as-built coordination.
• Support project administration: work plans, change orders, procurement requests.
