If so, Parsons is hiring a Senior Technical Manager of Utilities for the Greater Toronto Region. This role involves leading a team of professionals overseeing various phases of large-scale projects and programs for provincial, regional, and municipal clients.

We seek a versatile Senior Manager with exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills. You will manage a team supporting the design of multi-million-dollar transit and road infrastructure projects and assist in executing our business plan.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead teams across multiple offices/projects, ensuring technical excellence and quality assurance.
  2. Manage, coach, motivate, and lead staff to provide high-quality services and innovative solutions for complex utility design challenges involving multiple stakeholders.
  3. Collaborate with managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and project plans.
  4. Support the development of Project Execution, Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans.
  5. Ensure projects meet or exceed established goals.
  6. Manage daily operations and prepare technical reports and documentation for clients.
  7. Devise and execute action plans to address potential cost overruns or delays.
  8. Represent the company with clients and subcontractors during project execution.
  9. Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and support public meetings.
  10. Assist in business development and proposal preparation.
  11. Stay informed of industry trends, developments, and advancements.
  12. Perform other related responsibilities as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • Experience working with utility companies on transit and/or provincial projects.
  • 15 years of relevant technical experience, including at least 8 years in technical leadership.
  • Experience managing large teams of engineers, designers, and support staff.
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, motivate, and supervise professional staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of provincial and municipal standards and guidelines.
  • Understanding of stakeholder utility companies’ processes and requirements.
  • Proficiency in specialized engineering and assessment software.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • Updated knowledge of current technology and engineering software capabilities.
