Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a licensed Civil/Structural Engineer to perform design and review tasks for steel and concrete structures. You will prepare calculations, provide technical guidance, and liaise with contractors and other disciplines to resolve RFIs, NCRs and FCRs.

The role requires on-site presence, site inspections, and may involve a shift-based schedule. A Civil Engineering degree and Canadian licensure are required; a Master's is an asset.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Master's degree and above is an asset.
• Must be licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada.
• Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• Minimum 8 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete.
• Deep understanding of structural engineering from design-office and site experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Canadian and International Codes and standards in Civil/Structural engineering.
• Thorough knowledge of analysis software such as StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design and reviews for design changes.
• Prepare calculations for repair and reinforcement of structural systems.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve structural issues and interpret design documents.
• Liaise with contractors, stakeholders and other disciplines on RFIs, NCRs, FCRs.
• Identify structural risks and recommend corrective measures.
• Provide construction directions driven by structural design.
• Review and comment on work by others to ensure quality of information and design documentation.
• Attend meetings with contractors and stakeholders to address construction issues.
• Conduct regular site walkdowns to verify structural integrity during construction stages.
