Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer in Mississauga to perform structural analysis and design for varied projects in Canada’s nuclear and civil sectors.

You will prepare calculations, develop design packages, and ensure QA compliance while delivering quality work on time and within budget. A Civil Engineering degree and EIT eligibility in Canada are required; Master's is an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 0–3 years of design experience.
• Eligible to register as Professional Engineer in Training in Canada.
• Experience with structural analysis software (ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, ETABS).
• Strong knowledge of NBCC, CSA and related industry codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and structural design tasks.
• Prepare engineering design calculations for steel, concrete, and masonry systems per CSA standards.
• Analyze structural systems using software tools and compile results.
• Support engineers in preparing design documents and packages.
• Develop conceptual to detailed design and prepare technical specifications.
• Ensure QA procedures compliance and deliver quality work on schedule and budget.

Your role

• Perform structural analysis, structural design
• Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry elements as per the relevant CSA Standards and applicable codes and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs.
• Support engineers in the preparing design documents and compiling engineering packages.
• Develop conceptual design, preliminary design and detailed design.Prepare technical specification documents.
• Apply sound engineering principles to assigned engineering activities.
• Compliance with applicable QA procedures and being responsible for producing quality work.
• Delivery of all technical engineering deliverables/task within specified timelines and budgets.

About You

• Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University with 0-3 years industry Design experience; Master's degree and above is an asset.
• Eligible to register as Professional Engineer in- Training, in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada.
• Knowledge of Analysis software commonly used in Civil/Structural engineering such as ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI, ETABS, SAFE etc.
• Sound knowledge of Civil/Structural Engineering principles.
• Must have working knowledge of NBCC, CSA and other applicable industry codes and standards.
• Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
• Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Ability to manage to work effectively under tight schedules and budget.
• Good oral and written communication skills is a minimum requirement.
