Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada is seeking an experienced civil/structural engineer to lead seismic analysis, design structural systems, and perform ageing management for nuclear facilities. You will prepare calculations for steel, concrete and masonry and develop engineering packages to meet project objectives.

The role requires a Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada (Ontario preferred) with 8+ years in nuclear or industrial buildings, strong analytical skills, and ability to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada; Ontario registration preferred.
• 3–5 years of site or field experience in nuclear plants or industrial buildings.
• Experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.
• Knowledge of nuclear QA guidelines and safety codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and design.
• Prepare calculations for steel, reinforced concrete and masonry; compile design documents.
• Analyze structural systems with software (ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI).
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver engineering deliverables on time and within budgets.
• Provide guidance to junior staff to develop documentation.
• Review work for accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in design reviews for changes.
• Conduct plant walkdowns to support design requirements.
