Job summary

SpryPoint is seeking a Software Engineering Team Lead to guide a talented group of engineers. You’ll ensure delivery of scalable, secure software in a cloud-first environment, mentoring engineers and driving architectural excellence across the stack.

Responsibilities include defining technical designs, performing code reviews (including AI-generated code), and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within an Agile SCRUM team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ Years of experience in software development with Java backend web applications.
• Proven leadership or mentorship experience.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Web tech: HTML, JavaScript, CSS; familiarity with cloud platforms.
• Design patterns, OOP, clean code, and unit testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a software engineering team to deliver high-quality products.
• Influence design and architecture decisions; own delivery outcomes.
• Create and maintain technical designs, architecture docs, and best practices.
• Conduct code reviews, including AI-generated code, and provide feedback.
• Automate testing and support CI/CD in an Agile SCRUM environment.
• Troubleshoot issues across development and production and improve tooling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate risks early.
• Support Client Success with technical guidance and issue resolution.
