Job summary

CNOOC International is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to monitor, analyze, and optimize SAGD operations in our Alberta portfolio. The role involves compiling monthly reports, validating production data, and supporting digital tool development to enhance efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering with a P.Eng. designation (or eligibility), brings 10+ years in SAGD, and demonstrates strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills in a fast-moving oil and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred) and P.Eng. designation with APEGA or eligibility.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI) and familiarity with digital reporting systems.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
10+ years of experience in Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) or related oil & gas production is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor, analyze and optimize production operations.
Compile and prepare statistical reports to support management decisions.
Assist in data collection, validation, and integration for production reporting systems.
Support development and maintenance of digital tools and workflows to improve team efficiency.
Contribute to production forecasting, target setting, and well performance assessments.
Assist in troubleshooting instrumentation and operational equipment issues.
