Job summary

HOCS Projects, a Calgary-based engineering firm, seeks an Intermediate Project Engineer to coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering activities for oil and gas projects. You will drive technical alignment, manage engineering deliverables and support project execution in accordance with schedule, budget, quality and technical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science.
• Engineer-in-Training registration with APEGA or ability to obtain Professional Engineer within one year; P.Eng preferred.
• Minimum four to five years of engineering and design experience in oil and gas or related sector.
• Strong SAGD knowledge and ability to coordinate across disciplines.
• Experience with procurement, design reviews, construction and commissioning.
• Proficiency with MS Office and engineering collaboration systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering and design activities across Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical and I&C.
• Ensure scope and technical requirements are understood and executed across disciplines.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, drawings and data sheets.
• Manage design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID and constructability/operability studies.
• Maintain project execution plans, manpower budgets and schedules.
• Monitor progress, earned value, budgets and man-hours.
• Coordinate procurement activities and vendor document reviews.
• Communicate cost, schedule and resource impacts of changes.
• Support field verification, construction, turnover and close-out activities.
• Provide regular project status updates to leadership.
