Job summary

Agilus by Synergie is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to oversee SAGD and thermal oil sands projects in Calgary. You will lead process engineering efforts, manage scope and schedules, and mentor a multidisciplinary team across the project lifecycle from feasibility to start-up.

Ideal candidates bring extensive oil and gas process experience, a P.Eng. designation, and strong Aspen HYSYS proficiency to drive safe, high-quality outcomes on large-scale energy initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
• Extensive process engineering experience in oil and gas.
• Experience leading SAGD/thermal oil sands projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities on SAGD and thermal oil sands projects.
• Manage process engineering scope, schedules, deliverables and priorities.
• Oversee development of process simulations, heat and material balances, PFDs and P&IDs.
• Support project execution from feasibility studies through commissioning and start-up.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and risk assessments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities on SAGD and thermal oil sands projects
• Manage process engineering scope, schedules, deliverables, and priorities

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
• Possess a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
• Demonstrate extensive process engineering experience within the oil and gas industry
• Bring significant experience supporting SAGD and thermal oil sands projects
• Have proven success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Show experience within EPCM, consulting, or owner-operator environments
• Demonstrate expertise supporting projects from studies and FEED through start-up
• Exhibit strong knowledge of Aspen HYSYS, process design, and thermal oil sands facilities
