Job summary
Peoples Group in Canada seeks a senior software engineer specializing in automation to lead scalable RPA initiatives. You will architect resilient automations using UiPath and Power Automate, emphasize API-first design, and drive CI/CD and observability with DevOps practices.
You will mentor peers, collaborate with Product Owners and QA, and help transform engineering processes to deliver reliable systems in a banking/fintech context.
Qualifications
- More than 7 years of experience in software engineering.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures.
- Experience improving SDLC and mentoring teams.
- Experience in banking or fintech is a plus.
- Proven ability to build scalable, reliable systems.
- Over 4 years designing and delivering RPA.
- Deep experience with UiPath or Power Automate.
- Experience promoting bots across environments and QA.
- Experience embedding observability and support into development.
- Experience in Agile teams.
- Active participation in design, development, code reviews, and delivery.
- Experience collaborating with Product Owners, QA, DevOps, etc.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience operating and supporting production systems.
- Incident management, root cause analysis, observability.
- Experience with CI/CD, IaC, and git-ops.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build resilient automations.
- Prioritize API-first integrations and robust exception handling.
- Author SDDs with SLAs and operational metrics.
- Drive technical governance and code quality.
- Lead code reviews to ensure quality, security, and standards.
- Establish reusable component libraries to accelerate development.
- Provide mentorship to intermediate/junior developers in RPA.
- Transform our engineering practices (SDLC & DevOps) with release management.
- Integrate RPA telemetry with observability tools for incident management.
- Help transition to Git-ops driven deployments.
- Collaborate with PMs, Product Owners, and DevOps teams.
- Refine user stories and definitions of done.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide technical leadership.
- Stay updated with industry trends and training opportunities.
- Ensure security and operational excellence; troubleshoot production issues.
