ABOUT THE ROLE

Ensure Lafarge products comply with all specifications. Assist in implementing best practices and optimizing quality and mix design. Support all levels of operation in achieving quality objectives, working closely with operations and management.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Implement and ensure compliance with Lafarge Safety Program, promoting safety on-site and in operations.
  • Handle quality activities independently at one or multiple plants.
  • Perform and document quality control tests per local/national standards (CSA, ACI, ASTM), maintaining records.
  • Interpret test results and recommend adjustments.
  • Communicate with RMX Batchers regarding measurements and required mix adjustments.
  • Conduct field and lab testing, including slump, air content, strength, and sieve analysis.
  • Maintain testing equipment calibration and documentation.
  • Review shipping schedules and plan testing activities accordingly.
  • Develop new mix designs for lab trials under supervision.
  • Adjust mixes independently using Quadrel system.
  • Conduct coaching for drivers, new hires, and batchers.
  • Promote new and value-added products to customers.
  • Prioritize environmental stewardship and compliance.
  • Maintain good customer relations, support quality concerns, and educate customers on construction techniques.
  • Assist in pre-pour meetings and coordinate QC activities at plants and sites.
  • Test raw materials, conduct mix adjustments, and calibrate moisture probes.
  • Pass ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 and Concrete Strength Testing Technician certifications.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High School diploma; preferred: College degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 10 years in construction and concrete products.

Certifications: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1, ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician.

Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.

Travel: 10% requirement.

  • Strong analytical skills and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Adherence to safety protocols and PPE use, including being clean-shaven for respirator fit tests.
