Job summary

WSP USA seeks a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Senior P&C Field Services Technician to join our PTE team across Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. You will perform advanced electrical testing and commissioning in substations, industrial and bulk power systems, leading day‑to‑day field activities on site.

The role requires extensive knowledge of protective relays (Omicron CMC 256/356, Doble F6150), adherence to safety standards, and the ability to train junior staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; engineering degree preferred for advanced roles.
• 9+ years in electrical testing including HV circuits and substation testing.
• Strong experience with protective relays and relay calibration.
• Familiarity with NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards and field safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of protection and control systems on HV substations.
• Lead on-site field activities, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical direction to junior staff and coordinate with contractors.
• Document field data using forms and digital tools; maintain logs.
• Assist project leads with schedules, equipment needs, and risk mitigation.
• Troubleshoot field equipment with minimal supervision and resolve issues.
• Travel up to 80% and adapt procedures to site-specific requirements.
