Job summary

RESA Power, LLC is seeking a Field Technician to perform service, testing and maintenance on various power distribution equipment. The role supports senior Techs with measurements, setup, and site tasks while learning on the job.

You will inspect, test, troubleshoot, and data-collect on LV/MV/HV systems up to 500 kV. The position requires an informative safety mindset, strong problem-solving ability, and effective communication with customers and peers.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in related field required. Minimum 1 year of related experience.
• Knowledge of industry safety standards.
• Experience with MCCs, breakers, relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning, and switchgear up to 500 kV is preferred.
• Ability to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and good communication skills.
• Dependable with good judgment and organizational skills.
• Good customer service and time management abilities.
• Effective collaboration with customers, peers and management.
• Proficient computer skills and internet research for standards and manufacturers.
• Valid driver’s license if a company vehicle is used.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and data collection for low/medium/high voltage electrical systems.
• Test and calibrate relay systems and power metering; calibrate electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Test and inspect low/medium voltage switchgear and breakers; respond to customer emergencies.
• Maintain, test, and repair transformers (45 KVA to 130 MVA; dry type and oil filled).
• Maintain, test, and repair circuit breakers (low to medium voltage; in shop or at customer site).
• Test and inspect cable installations; start-up and troubleshoot generator controls and transfer schemes.
• Ensure all work complies with regulatory laws.
• Travel up to 50% with potential out-of-town assignments.
