Job summary

WSP USA seeks a POWER Testing and Energization Senior P&C Field Services Technician for project locations across the western U.S. The role covers testing and commissioning of protection and control systems in high voltage substations, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with contractors, document activities using field forms and digital tools, and support project leadership while traveling up to 80%.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years in electrical testing, HV equipment experience.
• Experience with protective relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE).
• Relay calibration using test sets and equipment.
• Knowledge of testing standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on HV substations.
• Lead field safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
• Document site activities using field forms and digital tools.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on testing logistics and equipment deployment.
• Support Project Lead and Field Supervisor in project execution.
