Job summary

Northbridge Financial is seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster, Property, to lead investigations and settlements of complex property claims. The role emphasizes coaching teammates, delivering clear decisions, and maintaining strong customer service in a flexible hybrid work model.

The candidate will have 5+ years of property claims experience, post-secondary insurance education, and a solid grasp of policy wordings, contracts, and relevant legislation.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education in an insurance-focused program or related program.
• CIP designation pursued is an asset.
• Minimum 5 years of Property Claims adjusting experience.
• Knowledge of claims settlement, policy wordings, insurance contracts, fraud investigations, serious losses, and coverage questions.
• General familiarity with e-mail and Internet; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience applying case law/arbitration decisions and provincial legislation.
• Experience in establishing and monitoring litigation disposition plans.
• Strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of the Claims Handling process.
• Thoroughly investigate and evaluate complex claims.
• Manage stressful calls and clearly deliver decisions.
• Provide training to new hires through job shadowing sessions.
• Support and mentor other adjusters on the team.
• Effectively manage a busy day-to-day schedule.
• Provide a great customer experience.
