Job summary

Intact is hiring a Property Claims Specialist to help customers after a loss. You will work with vendors, field adjusters and other experts to manage a wide variety of claims through completion, showing empathy, listening and business acumen.

Candidates should have 10+ years of property claims experience, catastrophe exposure is a plus, and strong communication. A hybrid work approach is available, with competitive salary, annual bonus target and an employee share purchase plan.

• 10+ years of property claims-handling experience, including major-loss residential files.
• Catastrophe experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze information gathered, interpret insurance policy wordings, determine coverage, and assess damage on complex residential total losses or complex scope-and-repair claims.
• Develop an action plan to ensure all aspects of the claim are addressed.
• Manage all financial components of the claim, including setting reserves and ensuring prompt and equitable settlements in line with Intact’s policies and standards.
• Ensure clear and concise information and direction are provided to vendors.
• Work with experts, including consultants, appraisers, engineers, and others, to help drive progress throughout the claim.
• Provide superior customer service to external and internal customers, and answer queries related to the claims process.
• Keep up-to-date on Intact’s insurance products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and service standards.
• Consideration will be given to the offering of a hybrid field adjuster role, or limited office attendance based on business needs for successful candidates located in British Columbia more than 2 hours away from an Intact office.
