University Business Services (UBS) supports the university’s mission through various services, including Food Services, which the Senior Cook will contribute to by preparing menu items for retail, catering, and residence facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Follow recipes and brand standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work stations
  • Adhere to food handling and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Provide feedback on menu items and assist in menu development

Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma
  • At least three years of experience in a full-service kitchen
  • Knowledge of food service procedures, preparation, and production
  • WHMIS and Food Safety certifications (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable attendance record
  • Comfortable working in conditions with heat, fumes, and noise

  • Position Type: Temporary, Grade 4
  • Location: On campus, Toronto
  • Start Date: August 2025
  • End Date: April 2026
  • Hours: 36.25/week, including shifts and weekends
  • Salary Range: $45,555.11 - $52,810.87
