Volkswagen Downtown Toronto in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Pre-Owned Sales Manager to lead the Pre-Owned vehicle sales department. You will drive profitability, manage inventory, display vehicles, and lead a team of Sales Consultants within our premier automotive group.

The role emphasizes achieving sales targets, managing marketing efforts, and ensuring compliant, high-quality vehicle delivery. Competitive compensation includes base salary plus bonus/commission and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Automotive industry experience.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of management experience in automotive.
• Clear Driver’s Abstract.
• Valid OMVIC registration.
• Strong business acumen.
• Professional appearance.
• Proficient with CDK systems; ability to operate PC-based software.
• Ability to sell the minimum quota according to dealership objectives.
• Excellent communication skills: verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual department objectives for sales, gross turnover and expenses.
• Follow up on potential buyers by creating and monitoring a customer search and sales control system.
• Provide supervisor with daily management details of floor activities.
• Manage marketing and advertising activities.
• Complete transaction sheets and forward to accounting.
• Establish and maintain standards for vehicle delivery to customers.
• Process Sales Consultants commission sheets.
• Evaluate incoming Pre-Owned vehicles for title, mechanical condition and bodywork.
• Ensure vehicles have a legal warranty for retail market.
• Plan and manage display of vehicles in parking area.
• Stay informed on federal/provincial/bylaws governing pre-owned sales.
• Keep abreast of manufacturer programs and promotions; notify team of changes.
• Follow market trends to decide which vehicles to stock.
• Source quality vehicles via ads and publications.
• Implement turnover policy of 45 days.
• Perform dealer trades as required.
• Manage reconditioning procedures and control forecasts.
• Create and maintain a network of wholesale/retail consultants.
• Attend vehicle auctions as approved.
• Monitor GP from auctions vs trades-ins.
• Develop and manage wholesale activities.
• Direct and assist consultants with aggressive yet realistic monthly objectives.
