Job summary

HRB in Calgary is seeking a Senior Project Manager with 8+ years of hands-on experience to lead custom application development projects from initiation through to closure, applying Waterfall and Hybrid-Agile approaches. This six‑month contract requires strong client navigation, governance, risk management, and stakeholder communication.

You will initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance, reporting to the Program Manager.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on project management experience on custom/bespoke app development.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification is required.
• Knowledge of Waterfall and Hybrid-Agile methodologies.
• Experience using Azure DevOps Boards as PM/SM.
• Experience writing and reviewing SOWs.
• Experience creating roadmaps for custom applications.
• Industry experience in regulated utilities/electricity transmission preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Initiate: Confirm project scope and foundational information with the customer.
• Planning: Establish scope, timelines, resources, and communication plans; identify stakeholders; develop risk plans.
• Executing: Direct daily work to achieve milestones; ensure quality; maintain stakeholder communication; manage priorities and gates.
• Monitoring and Controlling: Validate progress, resource commitments, maintain documentation, manage scope changes, and coordinate communications.
• Closing: Close projects per processes and drive continuous improvement with the Program Support Team.
