Senior Program Manager
Pay Rate: $103 - 120/hour, depending on experience
Contract Length: 1 year

Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead the delivery of high profile technology transformation initiatives spanning numerous product and service delivery teams across the IT organization. Reporting to the Director of IT Portfolio & Planning, this role is responsible for establishing program governance, driving delivery planning and execution across multiple technology domains, and managing dependencies at the program and portfolio level. The ideal candidate brings strong technical and stakeholder management skills, with proven experience leading large, complex initiatives from inception through completion in a fast paced enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Establish program governance for complex technology transformation programs requiring collaboration across various technology and stakeholder teams
- Establish delivery plans for key initiatives, balancing objectives and competing priorities across multiple product teams, including resourcing plans as needed
- Lead key programs from inception to completion through management and orchestration of sub-projects spanning multiple teams within product development cycles
- Manage program level dependencies of varying complexity, potentially feeding into larger portfolios
- Own all proactive and reactive communications for program sponsors and stakeholders
- Act as the initial escalation point for multifaceted program deliveries, proposing mitigation strategies and corrective action
- Manage budgets effectively within the constraints of enterprise-wide programs and their constituent projects, contributing to appropriate monitoring and control mechanisms
- Identify, propose, and deploy appropriate commercial frameworks and purchasing strategies in collaboration with internal commercial colleagues
- Liaise with Enterprise Architecture and Digital Steering teams to ensure key initiatives align with technology strategies and enterprise priorities
- Take on other responsibilities as assigned and consistent with the role
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in an Information Technology or Engineering field
- Project or Program level certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is advantageous but not mandatory
- Agile or Product Management related certification is advantageous but not mandatory
- 7+ years of experience delivering large, complex technology initiatives across multiple technology domains, including Applications, Software Development, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, Platforms, Cybersecurity, Digital Products, and Technology Operations
- Demonstrated experience leading business transformation initiatives enabled by technology, with measurable organizational, operational, or customer outcomes
- Experience delivering within one or more technology disciplines such as software engineering, data and analytics, technology operations, resilience, cybersecurity, risk management, enterprise architecture, or digital transformation
- Experience partnering with executive stakeholders and communicating effectively with sponsors, senior leadership, and operational teams
- Experience working in large enterprise environments, collaborating across technology, security, data, product, communications, and business functions
- Knowledge of technology governance, risk, security, and compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO, COBIT, SOC, or similar
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and change management capabilities, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse teams and priorities
- Experience within the airline, travel, tourism, hospitality, or tour operator industry is considered an asset
- Strong technical background or exposure to complex technical deliveries, enabling critical thinking and the ability to challenge technical feasibility
- Ability to communicate across organizational, technical, and political boundaries, translating complex technical information for non-technical audiences
- Experience leading Agile and Lean tools and techniques, with the ability to coach and mentor outside the immediate team
- Exposure to and experience across product delivery, service management, and project execution operating in cohesion
- Ability to lead continual planning processes in a complex environment while coordinating and coaching other delivery teams
- Strong self-direction, with the ability to work independently and manage context across multiple simultaneous project deliveries
