Project Manager – Enterprise Program Delivery Portfolio
Pay Rate: $95.59/hour, depending on experience
Contract Length: 1 Year
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Candidates in this role will be working remotely – preference for Alberta located candidates
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
As a Project Manager delivering projects within the Enterprise Program Delivery Portfolio, you will lead the delivery of End-to-End Enterprise projects by providing expertise throughout all phases of the Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). You are an energetic and motivated individual who is highly organized with polished communication skills, and has a proven ability to establish and manage competing priorities, deliver complex projects, and align stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
This Project Manager role involves leading projects from initiation through successful implementation. Key responsibilities include managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, vendor selection, and subsequent technology deployment. The ultimate goal is to improve impacted business areas and overall organizational capabilities by addressing related processes, people, and technology challenges.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Technology, Business, and 3rd party stakeholders to confirm the problems to be solved, expected outcomes and project deliverables.
- Identify and confirm project approach and engage appropriate stakeholders to develop detailed resource estimates and effective plans to manage the initiative.
- Assign deliverables, tasks and activities and continuously monitor and control all associated resources, schedules and plans.
- Report on status, risk management, budget/cost, success criteria and reporting as required.
- Anticipate and effectively manage risks and issues throughout the lifecycle of the initiative.
- Ensure optimal communications within and across teams and with all project stakeholders.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure a strong and positive stakeholder relationship.
- Provide positive team leadership and motivate those teams directly and indirectly involved.
- Identify key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Work with other project managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects.
- Ensure team members are effectively onboarded onto projects.
- Reports key metrics to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in IT project management with a specific focus on the Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).
- 3+ years leading cross-functional project teams through the successful delivery of large-scale initiatives.
- Experience with managing projects from initiation through to implementation, specifically within the Technology or Financial sectors.
- Mastery of “Project Delivery, Planning & Steering” and “Work Plan Development.”
- Proven track record of leading the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and vendor selection.
- Successful deployment of 3rd party technology solutions and subsequent vendor relationship management.
- Experience managing high-level stakeholders (Senior Leadership, Business, and Technology) to confirm project outcomes.
- Experienced with creating polished presentations and status reports that translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly updates.
- Experienced managing large-scale project budgets, including tracking, forecasting, and reporting on “Budget vs. Actuals.”
- Experienced with providing comprehensive Risk & Issue Logs and mitigation strategies that prevented project slippage.
- Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred.
- Nice to have certifications: Prince2, Agile/Scrum Certifications (CSM or PMI-ACP), Change Management (PROSCI).
