Job summary

Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to dismantle units at Pickering. The Sr. Planner will support EPCM planning, scheduling, cost control, estimating and change management, with a primary focus on planning and scheduling.

The role requires extensive experience in Primavera P6, Excel and a strong leadership profile. You will work on complex baselined schedules and coordinate with project teams on scheduling deliverables.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of planning and scheduling experience.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 and other project scheduling tools.
• Experience in an EPC environment is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge and experience in Primavera Project Manager.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
• People-oriented with the ability to establish credibility with staff and clients.
• A strong leader who can motivate and engage a team, with demonstrated strength in leading highly complex groups.
• An excellent written and verbal communicator with superior interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Commitment to working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, manage and monitor project schedules.
• Support Project Management for baselines, critical path analysis and forecasting.
• Assist with coordinating activities of project controls staff (cost, schedule, estimating).
• Assess the accuracy of all reports and project deliverables.
• Assist in the development and presentation of project controls procedures to clients.
• Supervise the work of the planning and scheduling staff.
• Develop and maintain complex resource-loaded schedules in compliance with contract standards.
• Maintain the basis of schedule documenting assumptions and parameters.
• Participate in quarterly forecasts, annual business plans and budgets.
• Participate in gathering schedule information for claims and change requests.
• Create reporting systems to meet customer requirements.
• Assist in project setup, budgeting and earned value management; ensure WBS and CBS alignment.
• Liaise with Construction on scheduling and sequencing; support constructability reviews.
• Identify schedule variances and develop recovery plans.
