Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Planning Manager for the CanAtom project at the Pickering Nuclear Refurbishment site in Ontario.

You will lead scheduling, governance, and integration across discipline teams to maintain the Integrated Master Schedule and enable informed decision-making. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will drive schedule risk analysis, recovery planning, and performance reporting, while mentoring planners and ensuring compliance with governance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
• 10–15 years of progressive planning, scheduling, or project controls experience on large, complex infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.
• Five or more years of leadership experience managing planners, schedulers, or project controls personnel.
• Professional certification such as PMP, PMI-SP, AACE PSP, EVP, or related project controls certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project planning and scheduling function and establish clear expectations for schedule development, update cycles, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain the schedule management approach, coding structure, calendars, progress rules, and baseline control requirements.
• Provide leadership and coaching to planners and schedulers, including review of schedule quality and reporting.
• Lead development, integration, and maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule from Level 1 to Level 4.
• Coordinate schedule inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, and client stakeholders.
• Support schedule governance, change management, and progress/variance analyses.
