Job summary

Ausenco is seeking an Experienced Piping Engineer to support our Mining & Metals team. In this role, you will design and analyze slurry and water transport systems, perform hydraulic calculations, and develop practical piping solutions that support safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of piping engineering experience in mining, minerals processing, or industrial facilities.
• P.Eng. designation or actively working toward professional registration.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic design principles for slurry and water piping systems.
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as AFT Fathom, Pipe Flow, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of slurry handling systems, piping materials, valves and related equipment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to work independently and with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver piping engineering designs aligned with project requirements and Ausenco standards.
• Perform and verify hydraulic calculations for slurry, water, gravity flow, and pumped piping systems.
• Develop hydraulic models using tools such as AFT Fathom, Pipe Flow, or similar software.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, and electrical teams during design reviews.
• Review piping layouts, P&IDs, and deliverables for technical accuracy.
• Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, material take-offs, and procurement documentation.
• Review vendor information and integrate equipment data into piping designs.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, constructability, and efficiency.
