Job summary

Ausenco in Vancouver seeks a Junior Designer in Mechanical or Piping to join a multidisciplinary team on mineral processing projects. You will contribute to drawing production, create 2D/3D models, and help coordinate designs across disciplines.

Requirements include newly graduated CAD experience (up to 3 years) with AutoCAD 2D/3D and Inventor (or equivalents). Familiarity with ASME/CSA standards and SmartPlant/P&ID is valued; a proactive learner is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D and Inventor (or equivalents such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge).
• Familiarity with ASME and CSA Codes & Standards.
• Design experience in minerals/metals is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Experience with SmartPlant and P&ID is valued.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning.

Responsibilities

• Drawings production including flow sheets, P&ID diagrams, piping drawings, isometrics, and equipment lists.
• Prepare 2D/3D models of mineral processing equipment (belt conveyors, tanks, pumps, crushers, mills).
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines and plan technical aspects of projects.
• Ensure quality, quantity, cost and schedule objectives are met.
• Maintain Ausenco drafting standards across projects.
• Collaborate effectively in multi-functional project teams.

We are currentlyseeking an energetic and enthusiastic Junior Designer within the Mechanical or Piping disciplines to be based in the Vancouver office.

About the role

• Drawing production including generation of flow sheets, piping and instrumentation diagrams, piping drawings, isometrics, tie-in lists, valve list and equipment lists.

• Prepare high level 2D and 3D models of mineral processing equipment such as belt conveyors, tanks, pumps, crushers, mills, etc.

• Work with other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate designs.
• Plan, organize and coordinate technical aspects of one or more projects.
• Ensure that objectives related to quality, quantity, cost and scheduling are met.
• Maintain consistent drafting standards across projects by adhering to Ausenco drafting standards.
• Work effectively as a member of multi-functional project teams.

About you

• Newly graduated with CAD experience up to 3 years of relevant experience including the design of piping systems or the layout of process equipment.
• Experience in the use of AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Inventor (or equivalents such as Solidworks, Solid Edge, etc.)
• Working knowledge of and experience in using ASME and CSA Codes & Standards.
• Design experience in minerals and metals sector is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of multi-functional project teams is a must
• Experience with SmartPlant and P&ID is strongly valued.

Salary range:$50,000 – 70,000 annually
